LAS VEGAS (AP)—Josh Cox won the Las Vegas Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon on Sunday and
Dorota Gruca took the women’s race on her 40th birthday.
Cox, of the United States, completed the 26.2-mile race in 2 hours, 25
minutes, 5 seconds, taking the lead for good with 3.7 miles to go.
Gruca finished in 2:44:31 after taking the lead near the 20-mile mark. The
native of Poland has lived in New Mexico for 12 years.
Both winners earned their first Las Vegas titles.
More than 28,000 runners began the race, running along the Las Vegas Strip
while about $ 22,000 of prize money was handed out.
