We all dislike the fact that we have to have car insurance, especially as it seems to cost so much these days. As much as the subject of car insurance can be annoying, there are some insurance claim stories that can really put a smile on your face. Below I’ve compiled 5 of my favourite Insane Car Insurance Claims.
No.5 – Wet dreams
A tired night driver decided to take a quick nap before he continued his journey. So he stopped and went to sleep. Upon waking up he found he was up to his knees in water.
It seems he had parked on a road next to the river which was liable to flooding.
No.4 – Are you ok deer?
A couple on holiday tried to make the following claim. As they drove down through the woods, they came across a Deer, which got excited by the yellow on their tax disc cover and decided to violently head butt their windscreen, causing it to crack.
No.3 – Flying Carpet
After spring cleaning his house, Mr A decides to throw away some old carpet he had stored in his garden. He takes the carpet and ties it up onto his cars roof rack. As he drives swiftly, he decides to go around a corner only to realise there’s a traffic jam. He quickly slams his breaks, at which point the old carpet flies off his roof rack and straight through the back window of a van in front of him. I suppose he got to dump the carpet after all.
No.2 – Ice hating
Looking for a new car as his current car had no heating; this person decides to go out on an icy day to do some car hunting.
He heads for his local VW Dealer in Devon to check out some new cars. On approach to the dealership his car slides and crashes into the cars on the forecourt. Now that really must have warmed him up.
No.1- Mind the jet.
At number one we have the case of a melted windscreen. A driver had to make an insurance claim, as his windscreen had melted.
How did it happen? Well as he was driving down the road he didn’t realise that over his car he had a Harrier jump-jet plummeting down, which was about to crash land. As the plane went across his car, the heat from the jet engines melted his car window.
